Google – a very popular search engine and also a king of internet world was founded by Larry
Page and Sergey Brin in September 4, 1998.
Larry Page is an American, born on 26th March 1973. His father clergy and mother glory were computer science professors. Page is a computer scientist, a co-founder of Google and also an inventor of PageRank, which earlier became the basis of Google’s search ranking algorithm. At his childhood stage Page’s house will be always messed with computers and science magazines so his attraction to computer started at the age of six. After completing his graduation in computer science he joined Ph.D.
in Stanford University where he met Sergy Brin.
Sergy Brin was born on 21st August 1973 in Russia. Later, Sergy Brin family Immigrated to United States at the age of six. Brin’s father is a mathematics professor. He is a computer scientist and a co-founder of Google. He too joined Ph.D. in Stanford University where he met Larry Page. In an interview to The Economist, Brin humorously said that “We’re both kind of obnoxious.”They seemed to disagree on most subjects. But after spending time together, they “became intellectual soul-mates and close friends”.

In January 1996, Larry Page and Sergy Brin started collaborating on writing a program for a search engine and named their new search engine “Backrub”. Because system analysis backlinks to estimate the importance of a site. In backrub they received excellent reviews. Later they changed the name as Google which first ran under the Stanford University website, with the domain name google.stanforn.edu and z.stanford.edu.
Larry and Sergey started working on Google. They erected a server network by using low-cost,
lent and used PCs. They tried to license their search engine technology, though subsequently failing to find someone that wanted their product at an early stage of development. The pair decided to keep Google, search for more financing to develop the product and take it to the public themselves. They started working on the development of Google. Now their plan worked Google became a hot commodity.
After rapid demo of Google, Andy Bechtolsheim, a co-founder of Sun Microsystems said that “Instead
of discussing all the details, why don’t I just write you a check?” He wrote check of $100,000 to Google Inc.
Larry Page and Sergy Brin cashed the $100,000 check, and elevated their initial fund to $900,000.
Original name of Google was Googol. It was a name of number 1 followed by 100 zeros. Googol
name was founded in the book called Mathematics and imagination by Edward Kasner. This name was chosen by Google founder’s to indicate that Google search engine desires to offer gigantic amount of information to people.
The domain name Google was registered on 15th September 1997. Later, The Company Google was incorporated on September 4, 1998. After five years Google’s initial public offering (IPO) took place, that is on August 19, 2004. And Google’s main motto is to “Organize the world’s information and make it universally accessible and useful” and “Don’t be evil“.
