Google took the veil of secrecy off. As Google turns 14 this month, Google is celebrating this creative spirit and officially launching Google for Entrepreneurs. “Google for Entrepreneurs,” is a micro site that brings together statistics about Google’s programs and partnerships around the world for startups and entrepreneurs.
Mary Grove, head of Global entrepreneurship outreach, stated in blog post that Google’s entrepreneurship activities are focused on three areas:
- Partnerships with strong organizations that serve entrepreneurs in local communities.
- Google-led programs to bring our teams and our tools directly to entrepreneurs.
- Placing relevant Google tools in the hands of startups as they are getting off the ground and ready to scale. The site is designed to serve as a catalogue for these resources.
What does Google going to get out of it?
It acquires its tools in the hands of entrepreneurs early, assuring that Google’s product becomes the building blocks of their businesses. It also helps Google to keep an eye on promising acquisitions — just other incubators funded by big tech companies, such as Facebook’s FbFund and Google’s own Google Ventures do.
Alongside with the site, the tech gigantic launched a designated Google+ Page and proclaimed it is hosting its first annual Google for Entrepreneurs Week, a series of events to be held in 28 cities across 13 countries.
